An unusual sight at the beach in North Carolina. 2/12/10, Friday night, the snow began to fall on Sunset Beach. We awoke to beautiful snow covered palm trees, and snow covered sand on the beach! Great for taking pictures! By midday Saturday - only a few traces in shaded areas remained.

Friday night, February 12, 2010 brought snow the the North Carolina coast. Sunset Beach residents and visitors saw snow on the beach strand Saturday morning! Unusual for our area, it was pleasant to see falling Friday night. Saturday morning was a great time for picture taking and walking on the sandy beach covered with snow.

2/13/10 Mother nature gave Sunset Beach a good dusting of snow Friday night! Seen in this picture is a golf cart bridge at the Maples course of Sea Trail Plantation in Sunset Beach.

This is one of the beach access boardwalks at Sunset Beach, NC. I was standing on the snow covered sand on the beach looking at the boardwalk stairs leading back to the main road. 7:30 am. 2/13/10
